A FEW THINGS ABOUT THE ARTIST
1. What do you do when you’re not making art? (Day job etc...).
Previously, I taught art to children ages 18 mo. – 3 years old. I loved the incredible uninhibited energy, fearless experimentation and sheer joy the kids exhibited during the class. I am now a full time artist.
2. Why do you make art?
My deep love of colors found in nature is a driving force that compels me to paint. The manipulation of acrylic paint on canvas with palette knives and layers of medium is a visceral process for me. I allow my work to evolve or devolve till it generates an emotional visual experience in itself.
3. What inspires you?
My inspiration for my work is often the Ocean Park series created by one of my favorite artists Richard Diebenkorn.
4. What/who are your influences?
I am influenced by color combinations found in nature.
5. If you could meet anyone dead or alive who would it be?
Michelle Obama
