A FEW THINGS ABOUT THE ARTIST

1. What do you do when you’re not making art? (Day job etc...).

When I'm not making art, I work as a Product Design Manager for a software company.

2. Why do you make art?

I make art because I can't not make art! I've been making art since I was a child. I think making art is kind of magical and an expression of what it is to be human.

3. What inspires you?

I am inspired by nature, by things I see in my travels and by the human figure.

4. What/who are your influences?

My influences are vast, thanks to the internet! Sometimes I'll see a photo of something that will spark an idea, a color combination that looks amazing or an evocative piece of art that will inspire me. As far as artists, I love my abstract expressionists for the movement I see in their art, I love Egon Schiele's figures and lines - and Picasso's simple childlike figures.

5. If you could meet anyone dead or alive who would it be?

I think it would have to be Cleopatra. Aren't the Egyptians such a mystery? I want to know all about the pyramids, how they came to be... and Cleopatra's secrets for being such a badass.
