A FEW THINGS ABOUT THE ARTIST

1. What do you do when you’re not making art? (Day job etc...).

I work part-time as a caregiver. I am a team member of many for a 102 year old man, World War 2 vet and another elderly client. I also teach watercolor to Seniors and after just 3 months they are getting the hang of it. It is rewarding and also challenging.

2. Why do you make art?

Way down deep inside of me, I have always had a passion. Even as a child I was drawing and loved crayons. I can express myself better this way than with words sometimes.

3. What inspires you?

I love anything to do with nature, being outside in light and shadows, time of day, to see beauty everywhere and to grasp the essence of moments.

4. What/who are your influences?

Ideas, my imagination. I have seen Van Gogh, Picasso, Impressionists, and Kandinsky at the museum in LA. These shows were just wonderful and really inspired me. I also like Matisse, watercolor artists like Rex Brandt, Jeannie Dobie, and Richard Diebenkorn.

5. If you could meet anyone dead or alive who would it be?

Winston Churchill, I would have liked to meet and paint with him on location.
