A FEW THINGS ABOUT THE ARTIST

1. What do you do when you’re not making art? (Day job etc...).

I am a full time parent to two wild children and work part time as a designer and arts Ambassador with Healing In Arts.

2. Why do you make art?

In some sense I just feel compelled to create, anything really, in a world that can feel overwhelming, there is grounding and hope in creation. In another sense I am compelled to tell stories and art has always felt like the most effective way for me to do that.

3. What inspires you?

People inspire me, how we interact with one another and with our environment. I am also inspired by nature and what it can teach us about living well.

4. What/who are your influences?

At the moment I am greatly influenced by the art nouveau style and works by Berthe Morisot and Edouard Manet. Art Nouveau’s use of repeated patterns and nature inspired motifs are often represented in my work, while the portraiture from early impressionists continue to inspire and educate me.

5. If you could meet anyone dead or alive who would it be?

I am, at heart, a bit of an aging punk and would love to meet Patti Smith. I am so inspired by her music and writing and how she unfailingly followed her artistic impulses in many different mediums.
