“In this acrylic on canvas work, the plant’s organic complexity is reimagined through the prism of New Orleans. Each leaf serves a vibrant canvas of its own. Pamela painted each with intense color capturing the raw intensity and historical richness of the city’s unique color palette. From the deep ochres of the French Quarter to the electric purples and golds of a midnight parade. The dramatic curves and deep, rhythmic splits of these leaves mirror the enduring spirit of nature. It was fun to paint each curve and split with intense colors to intensify its unique conformation.”
