In addition to being a highly accomplished painter, Joel Terkeurst is a full time long haul trucker and audiobook narrator. His lifelong fascination with the landscape, void of human intervention - or shown as minor in comparison to the powerful forces of nature - is a primary subject in his of work, but not exclusively. 

“When I was younger, I would spend all of my time drawing. Then my Aunt came over one day, and did a sketch of our backyard. I knew she was an accomplished and very talented artist. I was completely fascinated, and from there it took off…”

Historical inspirations such as the English painter John Constable can be felt in his work, but most of all, one can sense his awe of nature and love of paint.
