1. What other profession is similar to being an artist and why?

Personally, I have worked in the social work and education field for 30 years prior to dedicating my professional life to art only. So, in my case, I actually feel that through ongoing education of the public, art classes and positive paintings, I am conducting very similar services to the community. Helping people to open up their creativity and lead a creative lifestyle is certainly a part of social work and a healing process. As creativity uplifts, improves self-esteem, adds meaning to daily routine, helps us to see positive elements in our surroundings - it is all a part of emotional wellness. Secondly, in my motivational speaking at work places and organizations I educate on the huge value of hiring creative people, who have natural innovative and outside of-the-box thinking spirit and will add value and success to any company. So, in a nutshell, as a creative person myself, I see artists in many professions.

2. What’s the nicest thing you can remember someone said about your work, or an individual piece?

The latest one: "The amount of energy, the amount of color and positivity that I receive from your paintings is very inspiring" Beth P.

3. What’s one thing you’d like everyone to know about you as an artist?

The most important effect that I want to achieve with each painting is healing, calming and uplifting - only positive emotions.
4. What was the last piece of art that you saw that blew you away?

Vitaly Makarov, modern Russian landscape master.

5. What’s something you haven’t done but you want to do in art/painting?

Confidence, that will allow me to continue growing and experimenting... without comparing myself with amazing old and modern masters... Boldness to be free in expression. I am working on these two. Acquiring them will bring my art journey eventually to unknown and unplanned surprises. Something to look forward to as I continue to grow. Love unknown glorious future in any field of my life!

6. Which artist do you like better - Ingres or Delacroix, and why?*

I don't think I have enough knowledge to have a strong preference. Yes, I do believe in knowledge in making an opinion.

*The reason we ask about Delacroix and Ingres is because they were contemporaries with wildly different styles!
