Welcome to AllArtWorks Featured Artist Series!
1. What other profession is similar to being an artist and why?
I’ve never thought about other professions that could be similar to being an artist because in my opinion there isn’t a magical formula for being an artist or any other profession. Yes, you have to have some skills either mandatory or not but the way you see and feel yourself in that ambiance is what defines it.
2. What’s the nicest thing you can remember someone said about your work, or an individual piece?
The nicest thing I’ve ever heard about my works is the “I usually don’t like this kind of art but yours made me rethink” because it actually reminds me again how different people are and how subjective art is in reality.
3. What’s one thing you’d like everyone to know about you as an artist?
One thing i’d like people to know about me as an artist is that I don’t think about the meaning of the art I make, there are feelings. As for other artists probably, but for me those feelings change every time even from the start of the process until the end and after. Because of this I suggest You to individually think about the feelings that a piece gives You in particular and nothing else. And also it’s totally fine if You feel nothing at all.
4. What was the last piece of art that you saw that blew you away?
One thing i’d like people to know about me as an artist is that I don’t think about the meaning of the art I make, there are feelings. As for other artists probably, but for me those feelings change every time even from the start of the process until the end and after. Because of this I suggest You to individually think about the feelings that a piece gives You in particular and nothing else. And also it’s totally fine if You feel nothing at all.
5. What’s something you haven’t done but you want to do in art/painting?
For a long time I wanted to try two things: digital art and oil painting. The first one I’m exploring these days meanwhile the oil painting I have yet to find the courage to try.
If I had to chose between Delacroix and Ingres I would chose Delacroix mainly because i like the way he was constantly exploring but at the same time stayed true to himself and feelings. His expressive sceneries just blow my mind and of course the influence he had on the impressionism movement after.
*The reason we ask about Delacroix and Ingres is because they were contemporaries with wildly different styles!
