1. What other profession is similar to being an artist and why?

Farming is a similar profession to being an artist because every endeavor in farming is given over to nature. I think that kind of letting go is similar to being an artist.

2. What’s the nicest thing you can remember someone said about your work, or an individual piece?

I like this question! A couple days ago my friend said, "Keep painting, the world needs it."

3. What’s one thing you’d like everyone to know about you as an artist?

I like peace and quiet.
4. What was the last piece of art that you saw that blew you away?

"Woman on Snake" by Kiki Smith

5. What’s something you haven’t done but you want to do in art/painting?

To have a group show with my husband Tony Hendrick and friend Bob Koval featuring our recent work with the opening night music provided by my son's band Local Bakers.

6. Which artist do you like better - Ingres or Delacroix, and why?*

Delacroix. The reason for my choice is made clear from this quote by Sister Wendy Beckett: "He is at one with the landscape, wild and high."

*The reason we ask about Delacroix and Ingres is because they were contemporaries with wildly different styles!
