Welcome to AllArtWorks Featured Artist Series!
1. What other profession is similar to being an artist and why?
Writing is my other creative outlet. To me it does have similarities. I like to tell a story with my paintings and make the observer feel like they're inside the picture as I do with my writing. The idea is to pull them in.
2. What’s the nicest thing you can remember someone said about your work, or an individual piece?
That my paintings are very passionate and the connection they feel with them.
3. What’s one thing you’d like everyone to know about you as an artist?
I’m not satisfied with a painting until I think the painting will touch the observer.
4. What’s something you haven’t done but you want to do in art/painting?
Because I love to paint in oil, painting with Grumbacher and learning to paint portraits are my goals.
Delacroix is more of a passionate artist to me and tells a story. You wonder what led up to the scene in his paintings and how did he depict it so vividly through his art.
*The reason we ask about Delacroix and Ingres is because they were contemporaries with wildly different styles!
