A FEW THINGS ABOUT THE ARTIST

1. What do you do when you’re not making art? (Day job etc...).

Teaching, coffee shops, wine shops, momming 3 kids, walking my dog, cooking, figuring out how to travel more in non-touristy ways.

2. Why do you make art?

To communicate ideas and make something that didn’t exist before. The idea of palimpsest is thrilling to me.

3. What inspires you?

Nature, All Art Forms, ordinary objects, ordinary moments, memory and universal tropes.

4. What/who are your influences?

Pierre Bonnard, Giorgio Morandi, Wolf Kahn, El Anatsui, Martha Graham, Twyla Tharp, Bruce Springsteen, Ethan and Joel Coen, Kurt Varnedoe, Eddie Vedder, David Byrne, Kazuo Ishiguro, and my friends who are artists, musicians, dancers, actors, chefs.

5. If you could meet anyone dead or alive who would it be?

Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
