A FEW THINGS ABOUT THE ARTIST

1. What do you do when you’re not making art? (Day job etc...).

In addition to work I take pre-architecture courses at GRCC, I enjoy jogging, and watching historical documentaries.

2. Why do you make art?

Making art for me is a form of expression, exploration and relaxation. I like to explore different mark making and painting techniques in order to see what an image could look like.

3. What inspires you?

I find traditional or groundbreaking art styles that are overlooked inspirational because they don’t meet popular criteria.

4. What/who are your influences?

-Paul Cezanne - I think he has this honest perspective of the world and he sees it with such intensity. -Gramma Moses - I admire how she explored the process of painting on her own. She created landscapes that are not always picture accurate but that are well expressed and give us look into the world in which she was living. -Pablo Picasso - I find his explorations of different art styles such as cubism, dadaism and tessellation appealing. Creating a pattern can bring life to a canvas.

5. If you could meet anyone dead or alive who would it be?

I would enjoy meeting the comedian Gabriel Iglesias. I find him relatable.
