1. What do you do when you’re not making art? (Day job etc...).

Although I am semi retired, when not painting I’m teaching either at a local university or gallery. I also volunteer in the community and am active on several boards.

2. Why do you make art?

I am somewhat of an introvert, and making art allows me to express myself. My art is personal and meaningful to me.

3. What inspires you?

I am inspired by the people and places around me and use these references to create visual stories in my work.

4. What/who are your influences?

I have an eclectic sphere of influence that comes through in my art. I love the color and style of the impressionists, the feeling and depth of romanticism, and the edgy realism of black and white photography. All art speaks, yet each voice is unique.

5. If you could meet anyone dead or alive who would it be?

If I could meet anyone dead or alive, I would love to have coffee with Leonardo da Vinci. Da Vinci’s influence in science, engineering and art are incomparable.
