1. What do you do when you’re not making art? (Day job etc...).

When I’m not making art I’m parenting, teaching, gardening, reading, remodeling, and wishing I was making art.

2. Why do you make art?

I make art because I have to. If I’m not making art, I’m not being true to who I am.

3. What inspires you?

Inspiration is everywhere! Art, artists, and nature inspires me, but so does the seemingly insignificant scrap of interesting paper, a well weathered wall, found textures, lines, patterns, and anything that tells a story.

4. What/who are your influences?

My influences are ever changing as my art, surroundings, and interests are ever changing. The list is long, but I will be forever grateful to Cy Twombly for his subtle, sophisticated, inspiring lines. I will also be forever influenced by and grateful for the creative home I grew up in and my parents appreciation of the arts.

5. If you could meet anyone dead or alive who would it be?

If I could meet anyone dead or alive, I’d like to meet the grandfathers I never knew and my maternal and paternal Dutch ancestors. Were any of them artists???
