A FEW THINGS ABOUT THE ARTIST

1. What do you do when you’re not making art? (Day job etc...).

I’m soaking in inspiration from the quiet life I share with my partner.

2. Why do you make art?

Painting is exciting! Each finished idea, I get to see my progress towards showing how the texture and sensation of the world and living in it moves me.

3. What inspires you?

It’s no specific place or thing, just looking for delight in my local landscape and daily doings. My current obsessions are stained glass and trees with buildings.

4. What/who are your influences?

The list of artists I’ve loved and tried to emulate is too long to name. But my favorite group is Les Nabis, a French group between Impressionism and abstraction that used delicate semi-flatness filled with bold colors and patterns.

5. If you could meet anyone dead or alive who would it be?

I can only imagine most of my long dead painter idols would be unpleasant to talk to, considering the old-time misogyny and general artist strangeness. But, I would love to see Egon Schiele draw one of his models, try to steal a few tricks.
