A FEW THINGS ABOUT THE ARTIST

1. What do you do when you’re not making art? (Day job etc...).

If I am not working at the school, taking care of my kids, or going on adventures, I am currently working on becoming a certified art teacher and starting my children's books.

2. Why do you make art?

I make art because it has always unlocked and brings deep emotional wounds to the surface so that I can work through them. Everything seems less challenging after I get lost in the creation of my paintings.

3. What inspires you?

In the beginning, I painted my pain. I worked through my grief of countless people, the hardships as a single mother that I have faced for many years, the strength that is needed to endure adversity as a single entity etc. But now, I paint more to show the beauty in things that many people miss, to bring people together, to awaken things in people that have lied dormant for years, or even decades. I paint to bring people together.

4. What/who are your influences?

I am influenced by things that capture the attention of my heart the strongest. The pull or call to capture something or to show something in a different light, is what honestly pushes me to paint these days.

5. If you could meet anyone dead or alive who would it be?

If I could meet anyone alive, or dead, I would probably want to meet Buddha or Tesla.
