1. What do you do when you’re not making art? (Day job etc...).

I am a commercial painter by trade, painting houses and businesses during the day; I make art in the evening hours. When I'm not making art, I spend a great amount of time outdoors. Some of my favorite activities include hiking and Stand-up-paddle boarding.

2. Why do you make art?

I strongly believe that spaces are meant to include art. Art contributes to our daily experience by inspiring, motivating, reassuring and sometimes even unsettling us. Seeing as art has such a powerful role to play in our lives, and that I have so many ideas swirling around inside of me, what else is there to do but create and let them out? :)

3. What inspires you?

I'm inspired by nature and the lines of movement that can be found in nature. Certain plants and trees for example have a way about them that tugs on my creativity.

4. What/who are your influences?

I would say that I'm influenced strongly by abstract expressionism. Even if a work of mine contains some representational image, it most likely began as a deeply emotive abstract work.

5. If you could meet anyone dead or alive who would it be?

If I were able to meet Katharina Grosse, I would soak up every ounce of the opportunity.
