Collection: Craig Merchant

1. What do you do when you’re not making art? (Day job etc...).

When I’m not making art, I enjoy spending time outside fishing, camping and kayaking.

2. Why do you make art?

Art is my life and I would be lost without it. Art allows me to express my creative mind in a tangible way, and I enjoy allowing others to share in that experience.

3. What inspires you?

I am inspired by nature and the amazing creatures that live around us. I like to portray the relationships between humans and nature in my artwork.

4. What/who are your influences?

I am inspired by installation artists such as Bruce Munro and Adela Andea. I tend to be attracted towards outdoor art installations, as it combines art with nature and allows the viewer to freely experience the work.

5. If you could meet anyone dead or alive who would it be?

Former President Obama.
